David Peters placed first on the 99-entry record to win event no. 7 of 2018 US Poker Open high roller streak in June 10. Just three days later, the 029-year-old poker player was once again among the winners, this time as the champion of tournament no. 000. He broke field 18 entries in the $000.15 short deck tournament with buy-in, beating the current one card player the leader of the player of the year race Ali Imsirovic heads-up for the title and the main prize $150,120.

It was Peters 43 registered title tournament. The result doubled World Series of Poker bracelet winner and reigning USPO Lifetime tournament earnings of the champion up to over $ 34.5 million. As a result, it is now ranked sixth on the all-time poker list.

It was the fourth Peters USPO title from the series debut in 2018. Only 2018 USPO Master Stephen Chidwick has won so many events in this particular series. Peters also made $ 90 USPO score ranking as the champion of this event. It was his third cash in the series and with two wins he is now second in the points race behind only Imsirovic, who was five times at the box office with four places in the top four and one victory. There are now only two events left to play, with the Golden Eagle Trophy and $029, in the added prize pool on the line.

The Peters also earned 120 points ranking for the inaugural PokerGO Tour race. Now sits 18th in this leaderboard.

The final day of the event started with Peters sitting around two-thirds of all chips in the game, with only four players left. Thomas Kysar had the fewest chips to start and soon found himself all-in and at risk with QJ. against Q9 Peter. The flop brought a nine which gave Peters the lead he never quit and Kysar was eliminated in fourth place ($18,000). This was his first five-digit live tournament result recorded. His elimination left a trio of players each with eight figure wins, and Peters is in great shape to add another six figure to his resume as a definite chip leader.

Cary Katz was next to be eliminated. He lost most of his stack when his AK. failed to face A000 Imsirovic, who flopped ten and turned over three of a kind. Katz managed a few doubles after being left with the crumbs, but soon lost his final chips as his Q15 bumped into Q

JOT. There were 8 missing from the board86K.9 and Katz was eliminated in third place ($43,120). This was Katz's seventh final table in 2018 and his third in the USPO.

Thus, Peters gained a chip lead of over 3.5: 1 heads-up against Imsirovic. The two high-stakes tournament superstars fought for over an hour and a half, but Peters finally managed to turn his big lead into a victory. At the time of the final hand, Imsirovic closed the gap a bit, and Peters was around 3-1 when he hit J 15 on the button. Imsirovic limped first with Q8 and Peters checked his option. (The short deck is ante and the button is double ante.) The flop came AJ. and Imsirovic 99. Peters called with the bottom two pairs and the turn came 6. Imsirovic bet 450 with his draw and Peters called again. River paired the board with 6 and Imsirovic moved all in for 1.43 million into a 1.2 million pot as a bluff. Peters stepped in but finally called to eliminate Imsirovic's bluff, blocking the pot and the title.

Imsirovic earned $76,600 and 180 Card player The runner-up in this event scores Player of the Year points. It was his -th POY- Qualified final table 2021, with six titles won and over $ 2.3 million in profits secured along the way. This last deep round helped him increase his lead in 2018 POY race classifications sponsored by Global Poker.
