The Washington Nationals became the first Major League Baseball franchise to launch sports betting from their stadium.

BetMGM launched its Washington Betting App late last week, but players can only place bets within two blocks of the National Park, according to a report from ESPN Chalk.

The team is also finishing work on a traditional sports bet at the stadium, which BetMGM will also be running. Retail sports betting is expected to be completed later this season. Following the rules MLB stadium fans will not be admitted to gain access to sports betting. The book will be accessed from the street, but not from the inside of the stadium.

DraftKings is working with the Chicago Cubs to open a similar facility at Wrigley Field, but Nationals is at a pace to open their facility first.

Last month, William Hill unveiled his sports betting at the Capital One Arena, home to the NHL Washington Capitals and Washington Wizards NBA teams. He became the first bookmaker in the professional sports arena.
