World College Poker ( WCP ) announced an exclusive partnership with PokerStars. net as sponsors and hosts of the 2021 free-to-play tournament World College Poker Championship Main Event, open to students 18 and worldwide. This will be the first time the event will be available worldwide.
World College Poker was created for, "Cultivate an online community of students who have a great passion for poker." WCP has teamed up with PokerStars, the world's largest online poker site, hosting some of the biggest online tournament championships, including World Championship of Online Poker ( WCOOP ) and Spring Championship of Online Poker ( SCOOP ).
Coming WCP Champions will consist of four stages with players divided into six global regions upon registration, which will compete online on PokerStars.net from July 24.
- Round One (July 24) - All worldwide registrants will enter the Round 1 tournament exclusively in their region. In each region, participants will play against 50 players who will advance to round two.
- Round Two (July 31) - The 300 who qualified for Round One will compete to be one of the 45 players moving on to Round Three. Their stacks will be carried over from round two to round three.
- Round Three (August 7) - Remaining 45 players who receive PokerStars game bags will play through to the final six.
- Round Four - Final Table ( TBA ) – The top six players will compete live or online to crown the 2021 College Poker World Main Event Champion. More details will be announced soon.
The WCP's College Championship Main Event is open to students aged 18 and over with a valid student ID who are currently enrolled in colleges, universities and professional schools around the world. Players from Spain, Italy, Portugal, Pennsylvania, Michigan and New Jersey are not eligible to participate WCP on PokerStars.net, in accordance with local laws.
